I am Kristin Westerfield, owner of the Tiny Ivy Studio. I started my professional photography journey amidst the chaos of 2020. I had spent the prior 10 years of my career working in the business side of the fashion industry but I always felt like I was not quite on the right path. The pandemic brought an unexpected perk--a creative spark that was fueled by being home more with my children. I found myself being drawn to photographing them. I was finally using this creative part of my soul that had been unable to shine for so long. I always had a love for the power of a photograph to transport you back to a certain place or time. A photo of my husband and I in Paris would bring back memories of that most perfect vat of french onion soup. A photo from our honeymoon in St. Barths took me to the balcony of that luxurious hotel room.
With the birth of my two children my love for photography only grew and I wanted to document as many memories of them as I could --they really do grow up so fast. My photography style is a combination of posed and lifestyle candid shots that will truly capture the spirit of your family. It isn't always about forcing the perfect smile out of your child, or positioning your arm in the perfect way; rather, it is about doing my best to capture the love you have for each other so you can always be brought back to that place in time.
I have three children: Quinn, Charlie, and Margot. Tiny Ivy Studio was inspired by them. I found myself wanting to capture them in photographs just being themselves and exploring the world. I wanted photographs of them that I could feel so that I would always be able to look back and remember these fleeting years I had with them. I strive to provide the same to all of my clients.
